Having a happy cat,
having an extremely happy bird, or simply,

having two happy birds?

Make an impact!

0
Final year, yes, final year... I am on my way towards completing my Final Year. It is the same mixed feeling when you were still in Form 5: you want to grow up and move forward but you just won't know what the future has in store for you. It is a never-ending paradox.

But it's not a matter of choice because the time will come eventually. 9 months may seem a long way to go from now but time flies, maybe even faster than Superman.

After 19 years + living in this world, I realise one thing. Since going through my internship stint that ended less than two weeks ago, I realise how important (at least for myself) it is to leave an impact wherever we go. But of course, the impact has to be positive in one way or another!

.. And in our whole life, if we don't leave a footprint or a single trail, what is the exact purpose of living?

I once told my friend through msn that I want to die as a legend.
Yes, I will.

But just for this final year, let us all start making impacts.
Make everyone like you (I agree with Mr Goh)
Make everyone remember you!

Have fun guys & gals.

This year shall be the year to be remembered when you turn 50 or 60 next time ;)

Make an impact today!

(sounds like a slogan for a charity event :D)

Notepad:

My resolution/ to-do list:

1. TUC-CPA Student Charter (Accounting Club)
There is not much point in leading a society without making some impacts right? But seriously, this is the first time that I become the president. oh wait, this is after discounting the fact that I got the president post of the petanque club without having played that game before. lol

2009 - It's time to restructure and implement good systems, besides having more events to benefit the members. It's also a good time to start networking with people!

2. Studies
6 HD's 2 D's, possible? I don't know =.=

3. Gain knowledge / insights of many many things. Research!
This area is wide but there are too many things that I want to learn and be comfortable with.
Career options and economic news are on top of my list now. Planning to pick up golf, maybe within next 5 years? haha

4. Some competitions maybe?
Win 1 or 2? Let's see. :P

The tale of monkey and peanuts

0
And so it started,

I C Big Monkey (ICBM) looking for something.

So I said, "Finding peanuts?" (FP)

Big Monkey, "Ya, Finding again" (FA2)

"Really Cari Peanuts Lagi?" (CPL)

"Tak boleh ke?"

boleh...Monkey boleh, Malaysia boleh, petrol price is down to rm2/litre, diesel to rm1.90... im not crazy yet but hope it will rise again in Feb - June 2009...and dropping back forever and ever :D

I'm going nuts, and i bet everyone is too. lol

Good luck in exam, fellow UniSA mates! can't wait for exam to be over, just can't wait to... just graduate! ;)

My feeling ;)

1
*REALLY REALLY REALLY LONG POST ahead!!*

It's been a looooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooong time since I really blogged. The last post was more like a notification rather than a blog post. But still, it yielded my highest single-day page visits and views:
*I knows it's not the WORLD RECORD but maybe if I do that more often, I can generate enough views to attract nuffnang and/or other ads. =P

That story aside, to compensate for the previous lack of posts, I'm going to do a long post, a really long one. Don't ask me 'how long' please. It's longer than that. =.=~

And so, the semester began...with the CPA Passport Undergraduate Conference, fair enough. I was not the OCP but that does not mean I can hang my boots up and shake my legs. The multimedia video I did for the opening of the conference is a satisfaction , a BIG satisfaction for me =)

Then comes the first peak of the sem:
Of all times, FA2 assignment, FP assignment, TUC Mid-Autumn Festival, Business Plan Semis written submission and presentation have to done within two weeks.
  1. BP submission: other than researches for two full days, there is nothing much to do actually...just copy+paste previous bp, alter relevant parts and tada! That was what i thought before submission. then i realise the financial model has to be rebuilt T.T...but seriously, I enjoy making a financial model. I dare to say it looks semi-professional (close to professional =P) even though it is not the exact kind of model that will be build by real financial modellers!
  2. FA2 Assignment - Seriously, have to thank Datuk Hong and P***** for allowing us to have a look at the past assignment. If I were to start the assignment from scratch during this time, I think I wouldn't have time to sleep throughout this 2-week period. Also, thanks yi qian for her meticulous nature in checking every single detail =)
  3. FP Assignment - I thought it was supposed to be an easy assignment....and yes it was! the easiest among all 4 assignments =.=. Thanks to kx, datuk and shireen, we managed to pull it off, yielding 'excellent!' from ms lisa. Or was it the grammatical phrase of 'very excellent!'?
  4. TUC Mid-Autumn Festival - I was not big-time involved in this. Really have to say sorry to those who had expected me to help a lot in this event. At the beginning of the sem, I really thought I could contribute a lot, but ... sorry I was really bad to turn off some of your calls in asking me to help =(... Anyhow, I was the emcee of the night, and I would rate my performance with a 5/10. A fair mark for the constant hesitation :S
  5. BP Semis presentation - copy+paste previous slides, the proposal, the model...some rehearsal and tada, a good presentation from 3 of us.
The stress that I have got during this period was not merely completing the asgts/event/bp with quality, but also the stress of working with people. Thanks YQ, kx, datuk, shireen, li san, yee leng for not rushing me like hell.

*But at least I told you a dateline that I will be able to finish waaaay before it right? lol

__________________________________________________________________

If that's not enough, here comes the second peak!

But this time with pictures la...(to reward u if u have read this far =P)

...ICBM. Not exactly very hard for calculation part. But for the essay, we never what's the requirement and most of the time are spent judging what's important and what's not. It would be easier if s* is well though, as she is so resourceful, attentive to detail etc.
(@s* - No worries though, it has been taken care of...get well soon!)

...and next:

Taylor's Business Plan Competition 2008!
The bomb of my uni life in 2008!

Introducing Li San, the CEO...

Without her, I think we wouldn't have joined this competition again!

... Yee Leng, the CMO ...

... and me, of course! the CFO
*Hui Jing: Thanks for this photo! I looked handsome HAHAHA!

...and the three of us form this formidable partnership:
POWER UP CORPORATION!

being the CHAMPION finally!

... and of course, for all friends who came to support us!
THANK YOU!

No doubt, the feeling of winning is good though it is not as intense as last year! Great working with you, san & leng! Lets' rock HSBC next year, with a new name?

(but I'm kinda attached to this name already...right? Power Up!)

...........

... and finally CPL 'Cari Pasal Lagi' (Chow 2008)
finaaaaaaaally finished it laaaaaaaaaa! but I am still wondering how could li san & yee leng have finished CPL q2 before the BP final presentation?! they should be busy what?! or maybe i was just exaggerating? XD

lol....

p/s: 2-3 days for me to breathe before I study for exam =)
p/s: @ Everyone: good luck in revision and exam!

*Photos courtesy of Vi-vian, Suet Yen & Hui Jing!
*I noticed that I used a lot of =) , =P and ;)....=.="

But to end this post: Let's have a look at ...

... the trademark smile that I have been teaching my cat all this while! =D

ICBM Q1

0
For those who asked me about q1, apologies for providing the wrong info:

Please check this out:
http://www.oanda.com/products/bigmac/bigmac.shtml

Think in this way: If
spot rate: domestic currency/Rand = 1
PPP : domestic currency/Rand = 2

common sense says that rand is undervalued (should worth 2, but only 1 in spot rate),
thus DC is overvalued (+) if PPP>spot rate! CHECK THIS!

p/s: I slept for only 2hours+ in the past 24 hours, and going to have a sleep of around 2-3hours tonight. so my vision and brain capture less things now, and sorry if i seem to ignore u.

good luck!

Update that looked like an update

0
Issue: Was my previous post an update?

Rule: Hmm...unprecedented case - no rules.

Application:
Yes, the previous post did not look like, sound like or smell like an update of my life.

But it was an update that looked like, sounded like, smelled like and even farted like an update of my BLOG~!

Conclusion: The full court (Lord CS C.J., CS A.J.A, CS J.) unanimously held that it was an update. The plaintiff (Ms Vi-vian) will bear the legal costs incurred by both plaintiff and defendant.

wakakaka........ I actually found that IRAC method is really good in resolving a certain issue, anyone agree?

Here is a small update of my life:
- I think I'm 51~53kg now, not far from my target.. lol

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
This blog is not solely reserved for the purpose of updating about my life anymore. It will be more on serious stuffs (expressing my views on anything) and funny stuffs (to reward my "blog-ders" by lowering their stress level) (or in simple terms, to type anything i like la).
Now that I'm more certain that this Ms Vi-vian will appeal to higher court, the next post will be reserved for the judgment of the appeal case.
~ Bring me to life ~
0
Yes, this blog will be given a twist and brought to life again.
And as promised, there would be 2 long funny posts right? But the probability for them to appear in my blog are extremely low because I have forgotten what they are(were)! At the time when I made the promise, I really had inspiration to blog about them.. but too bad! blehh
By the way, the promise was made without you paying any consideration to me. So, it was only a gratuitous (spelled correctly thanks to SpellCheck =p) promise, thus you can't sue me! HAHAHAHA
(syok sendiri only lol)
..........
Also, in this post, I would like to clarify why I did not blog for 3 months! The reason as follow:
- It is similar to a singer who won't re-enter the stage without encore.
hahahaha...I'm not saying that I'm a star and I need fans to motivate me. ahem.
But I'm still touched because even during these 3 months of inactivity, there were 176 visitors in total, which meant 3 visitors per day. So, this is for you, you, you, you and you x 173 more.
Nonetheless, pn another more likely ground, maybe there are only 3 visitors that checked this blog out daily. So, this is for you, you and you!! =)
***Yes, this post does sound a bit (or very much) law-ish because I just got over the craze of the subject. Soon, my posts will be related to currency, mooncake?, financial planning: diversification, diesel (anyone?) and accounting standards.
I promise this blog won't stay inactive for another 3 months. But maybe, the next post will appear in 2months' time =0.
Stay tuned. You won't want to miss out anything.............................
Yang syok sendiri,
J&J 8-0 =p
Reflection of life for May
0
Someone 'tok' my back saying my blog became fossil d wo. Haha, it's damn true though, so i'm not gonna debate on this =p
This shall be the final post before the exam. Now that almost all assignments and society stuffs will be completed (put aside XD), it's time to study looooo- 4 relatively heavier subjects than previous sem - 1 month's time - full stop.
Time to push everything onto the right track! And this is the time when i will self-motivate myself the most wahaha. I wanna achieve 20 Hds!
And i promise there will be 2 long (maybe funny or lame) posts coming up after the exam! huahuahua
Anyway, here is the link to Taylor's University College Chinese Society Forum: TucCS07.forumer.com
Since its inception exactly one month ago, it has reached 700hits, still not bad huh? But most of them were actually made up of hits from some die-hard fan of this forum, so it's not that amazing after all @.@. lol. Come support support if u r interested in any chinese society's activities; or come crap in the kopitiam.
To make things sound cooler:
A visitor from Ghana! (but it's not that cool also)
LoL!
Reflection for the month ending 31 May 2008:
"If everyone can do it, why can't I?" sounds motivating but to me, the real quote shall be "If I can't do it, who else can?".
Why? Because everyone is unique in their own way and will surely be able to do something that nobody else can do! Get out of the comfort zone and lead the pack. There is no such need to wait for people to set a precedent first.
